Thanks guys for fixing the flash install process via the new minefield extension. Works great now. I noticed the getflash9 script gets the f9p_archive and puts it in /tmp temporarily and then unpacks it. This takes a long time, several minutes. To cut down on the install time for ongoing optional installs, I wonder if it is possible to store the f9p_archive in the /tce/optional directory and have the getflash9 script load it from there? Or maybe there is another way to cut down on the option install time. What do you think?

The getFlash script extracts and creates a flash9.tce which is all you need.
The script tries to find your tce directory and places flash9.tce there.
getFlash should be a one time only thing, run once to get your flash9 extension.

That is really slick! So to make flash install optional I presume I would just move the flash.tce to the optional directory and activate it along with minefield. I'll try it.
