How to compile Xorg?
« on: February 19, 2010, 01:43:52 PM »
I am trying to compile Xorg but the TC-build script seems to fail on multiple packages with multiple errors including not being able to find certain dependencies. I would like to eventually try to build Xorg-server 1.7.1. Any help or documentation on this? I have searched the wiki and forums heavily and cannot seem to find any good info on it. Thanks!

Is this with the latest TC-build, from the tcz 2.x source? I don't really remember what else I had loaded besides compiletc, could you post the errors?

Also, are you using the tarballs included, or some other versions?

Curaga,
Yes it is the latest. I have tried to build with the included tarballs. 1 error - in the script its looking for xserver 1.5.1 but 1.6.1 is provided tarball. A big issue is it can't find the XLibs. I will post the errors in a bit. Thanks!

Hmm, I think the last update was an incremental one, only updating the server and drivers.
