Suggestion for background/needed processes in extension
« on: February 06, 2010, 08:49:57 AM »
Would it be possible to add extension (background) processes to the service control panel of tc like dbus or notification-daemon or ...?

If so, e.g. the dbus daemon could be launched by clicking it there (and another click maybe for "at boot time"). That would only require to scan the /usr/local/etc/init.d dir for files and make a button out of it?
If I seem unduly clear to you, you must have misunderstood what I said. (Alan Greenspan)

I am thinking of how we can address the need for starting needed daemons by an extension now that we no longer do that by the startup script.  There are several possibilities I am pondering, and the main goal is to keep it simple.  For now I will use wrapper scripts for things like Namoroka until another solution is found.
