Inkscape Lite
« on: January 17, 2009, 03:55:03 PM »
TCE and TCZ of Inkscape Lite posted. It's the fork of Barry Kauler, that used the last C version and fixed some bugs in it. It's a lot smaller, lighter, and faster than the current C++ editions.

Quote
Title:          inkscapelite.tczl
Description:    Inkscape Lite
Version:        0.36.2
Author:         Inkscape people + Barry Kauler
Original-site:  http://openlab.jp/puppylinux/download/sources/
Copying-policy: GPL
Size:           608K
Extension_by:   Curaga
Comments:       Inkscape Lite is a fork of Inkscape, right before
they moved to C++, and got slower and got more
dependencies (gtkmm + friends) in doing so.
-
It does not have all the latest features, but in
pure C it is fast and has little dependencies.

Inkscape rocks - thanks for packing that  ;D

You might add the depends to the info file:
expat2
fontconfig
glib2
gtk+-2
libart
libxml2

Again - great work.

You gotsta be kidding me...487 kilobytes?!?
At that size I'd be happy with it even if it was just a vector version of xpaint
Downloading now...looking forward to playing.

That's where the "Lite" comes from :)
