Reboot locks up instead
« on: February 01, 2011, 02:31:36 PM »
I have a machine (Dell T7400) which locks up when trying to reboot:

The system is going down now!
Sent SIGTERM to all processes
Sent SIGKILL to all processes
Requesting system reboot
Restarting system.
machine restart

Examining the kernel source indicates that the "reboot=b" kernel parameter is needed for some systems to reboot properly. I am posting the information here in case it may help someone.

Right, the id for T7400 was added after .33 it seems.
The only barriers that can stop you are the ones you create yourself.
