ltmodem
« on: December 01, 2008, 11:27:21 PM »
The first thing that I'm going to have to ask, living in an area where technology is at least10 years behind that of most major cities, is whether it is a simple task to build the martian winmodem drivers for Tiny Core.  So far I have not had much success even with the big dstros.  I got it compiled, loaded, and connected on Deban Etch, but as soon as I try to do anything online I get immediately disconnected.  And that's the BEST I've done with a 2.6 kernel so far.  Anyone with a Lucent/Agere winmodem do anything with it in Tiny Core yet?

I live in an area kinda like that.  I have a few winmodems laying around myself including voice modems I would like to use.  I've spent way too much time on google but it always seems to end up as "through it in the garbage and spend a few dollars on a compatable modem".  My understanding of winmodems is that Microsoft payed the manufacturers to not release the information needed to write a driver to anyone else.
Old wounds that have never healed need to be re-exposed before the cure can be applied.  The cure must be available before the wound is re-exposed.
