pngphoon: resolution

Hi folks,

i just installed pngphoon and tried to change the destop resolution to 1280x800.
Unfortunately I was unable to edit the /usr/local/tce.installed/pngphoon file as discribed
in the info of the Appbrowser. It says it is read-only.

I used:
sudo vi /usr/local/tce.install/pngphoon

Has anyone any hints?

I'm not at a tc machine at the moment to try, but it sounds as though you would need to set the copy2fs flag for this to work?

Hello habalulu,

you did fine, I screwed up.  Sorry.

The package and the instructions are from a time when most stuff was copied into the ramdisk.
I've just submitted a new release with new instructions.

Huh! What a prompt response in this forum. Remarkable!

Have I understood correctly? When I create a file called copy2fs.flg in the tce-dir,
all extensions will be loaded into the ram, and then the relatet config-files could be
edited? Otherwise they are mounted read-only and will only be loaded into RAM when
they are activated via the "Install local" option of the Appbrowser?

So to save the edited config files, I have to quote them in the /opt/.filetool.lst?

By the way, it seems that the side with the core concepts is a little outdated.
Perhaps a update possible? Its a little frustrating for beginners to struggle through
this part. A couple of images to explain the complicated things would be very helpful, I think.

The next thing. It was very hard to discover the purpose of the AppsAudit-Tool and the
Install Options-Menu. Maybe this could be added to the FAQ-Side?

Last thing. The difference between the third and the fourth operation mode of TCL is
very mystical to me at the moment, but I think I could figure it out  .

But despite these little trifles TCL is a great distro! Keep up this excellent work!
