Hey Pats that was actually a pretty astute observation and one of the first I jumped to too.

Well , I already said you must be knowing all this.
As far as Vista issue, why dont you try to un-install Vista, install  good old stable Win2K and then try TCL with all your needs. I replaced my XP with W2K and everything is fine now.
After expermenting TCL with W2K and if successful, you may re-install Vista. That may at-least point to the exact error , which is the culprit .

Well thanks to you all for the help but it seems I've hit a pretty sturdy wall here.
So I decided instead of creating an extension I'll just recode the base TC from scratch to do what I want. That way I don't have to worry about loading extensions or clio and other non-windows file formats. Thanks to all for the help! If any of you do get a brilliant insight as to my problem do post so I and others with similar problems can get stuff working. I'll check back every once in a while and try again with each new TC just to let you know if something ends up working. Ciao!
