How to install ATI Mach64 driver to Tiny Core?
« on: January 18, 2010, 03:03:28 PM »
Hello. XOrg detected video driver as Mach64. But when started it printed error modprobe: module mach64 not found. I got ATI driver's sources from freedeskop.org "xf86_6.8.0", installed extentions: xorg-dev, linux-headers and compiletc. Then I compiled and installed drivers from xf86_6.8.0 sources. But even after installation the same error was printed out.
Could you help me with ideas how it can be solved?

That's the kernel module, required for 3d. The 2d graphics driver is included in the Xorg extension.

The drm module for mach64 hasn't been available in the kernel for a long time. Currently the source isn't available in any upstream git repo either; it's gone. The last update to it was in 2008, so even if you found it, it might not work with the current kernels.
The only barriers that can stop you are the ones you create yourself.
