Mac OSX has what I consider to be a "high performance/low resource computing" feature: a file index wherein files are indexed on-the-fly rather than by crawling through the filesystem (which means that the files might not get indexed until an hour after they're created.)
I'm told Ubuntu makes the same thing possible with the Tracker and Beagle apps.
How about tinycore? Is there an extension for this? I've been using ls (LS) to search for stuff but I would prefer something that works more like OSX search (both for speed and because it works on file contents)
