« on: December 02, 2009, 05:32:14 PM »
When I start my computer it says "xauth: creating new authorit..." twice and then brings up tc@box:~$ but I can't get to the gui. What do I do.

X couldn't start for some reason. Installing Xorg would likely help:

tce-load -w -i Xorg-7.4.tczl
startx
The only barriers that can stop you are the ones you create yourself.

It says Xorg-7.4 is already installed. When I type startx nothing happens.

EDIT: Not sure if this helps but when I type firefox it says " Error: no display specified "

Are you setting video resolution in the boot config file (ie vga=7xx). If so, I have see this type error when you set the resolution to one thing and an apps is looking for the resolution to be something else. Just my two cents.

I have gotten tinycore installed but this has never happened. To answer your question, no.
