OS Running in RAM?
« on: October 31, 2009, 05:10:43 AM »
Looks like even Barry Kauler (Puppy) is getting the bug:

"Yep, it works! booting is a bit slow, as everything loads into RAM. But, this is the direction that I am aiming Quirky -- a distro that runs in RAM only.

Hey, this is fun!"

initrd inside the kernel. IMHO not worth it, forcing you to rebuild the kernel every time you want to change a file.
The only barriers that can stop you are the ones you create yourself.
