Project could be so much more...bigger dev team and more!
« on: October 25, 2009, 04:31:15 PM »
This project has the potential to be extremely popular and grow more and development could be a lot faster on it if you would allow more people to help. The IRC channel is 20 people only for what has been a top ten flavor before.

You have done a good job but this could be one of the biggest distros out there because of its speed.

Why not ask for donations and more help? Lets make this as big as puppy.

Whaaaat? The complaint has been that this project moves too fast.

Anyone in the community can contribute, and they do so, via extensions.
Just look at all the varied extensions that wok with Core, Tiny & Micro.
This project is already community driven.

Asking for donations, only complicates things, business license, taxes, and how to distribute, accounting and such.
.
This project has been a totally free project, even free from those pesky ad banners.
Kent paid the first year of bandwidth/hosting and I paid for the second year.

Recently I have added several to the Private Preview testing group, as well, as getting much needed help on the website.

The Wiki is also there for the community to contribute documentation from a user's perspective.

So you see, there is much anyone can do if they wish to contribute.

"Build it and they will come."

There has been a continual increase in the number of people using Tiny Core.

Some of these are users, while others contribute.

Become involved and see for yourself.

If you want to contribute, offer your services.

By the way, Tiny Core has advantages over Puppy.
Many people see what is. Some people see what can be, and make a difference.

I agree. I'm a big fan of Puppy . . . but I like Tiny Core even better. If you want small, fast, and light, Tiny Core has a terrific modular design.
