Unable to connect to the network
« on: October 31, 2009, 12:22:28 PM »
I have an amd64 machine that is connected to a LAN network and I can browse my internet through a proxy server that connects the LAN and the internet. The problem is, I have successfully booted the TinyCore linux (I am using dual-boot, along with ubuntu and windows XP), but since I cannot connect to the internet, I am unable to go any further in Tiny core linux.

When I try to connect through the network card configuration in the panel, after entering my IP and other information and clicking on "apply", nothing happens.

How can I solve this one?

How to setup a proxy in TC:

The only barriers that can stop you are the ones you create yourself.

Thanks for the reply.

But the problem still persists.
If I setup http_proxy in a terminal (I assume you asked me to do it in a terminal ), then why would appbrowser use that proxy? In my case, it is not.

After setting up net card configuration through the panel, when I click on "apply" still nothing happens; though typing "ifconfig" on a terminal does show me that the network has been setup. When I open "appbrowser" and then click on "connect -> tce ", appbrowser itself gets hanged.
