Tinycore Vista desktop
« on: June 21, 2009, 09:28:41 PM »
Check out the screen capture of my Tinyccore Vista desktop...and NO I didn't do a paste up job in Photoshop or Gimp, this is a straight capture.  I'll entertain a few thoughts on how it happened and if nobody comes up a winner, I'll let you know how I came upon this.  I laughed when I realized what was up.

Great work - although isn't that Mac OSX icons in wbar (I have the same on my Arch distro - and the apple grass background one one desktop, but the vista grassy hills on the other - jwm allows you to do stuff like that!)
eee user. From Xandros to Debian via Breeezy to TCL.

Actually Kerpob, that's Windows' RK Launcher showing up on top of wbar.  I enjoy the joke of using the Finder icon to launch Windows Explorer.  btw...the key to figuring out how this happened is in the screen capture itself.

OK...Here's what happened.  PingPing is on the right tack.  I Run TC in Qemu from Vista.  Only the top 2 pixels of the title bar are at the top of the screen, so when I want to switch to a running Windows program all I have to do is to hit [Win+Tab] to bring it forward.  When I do this, since Qemu is filling 99.99% of the screen, it stays in the background.  This one time I did it all my open windows came forward including RK Launcher and Winamp.  I had a good laugh at it and decided to capture the moment and post it here.  Hope you enjoyed it.

Curaga...how do you like my paraphrased sig?  When trying to think of one, this came to mind when I saw yours.

;) I don't really agree with that, in my opinion the binaries that stop you are the ones distributed as binaries.

I dunno...running TC with a Vista foundation....

isn't that sorta like a romantic dinner with your gal
with a gorgeous full moon overhead
candle light dancing in her eyes,
whispers and laughter rolling off her tongue,

...and your father in law walks in without knocking,
12 pack and bag of chips under his arm,
because the Giants are playing the Dodgers
and his cable is on the fritz

until long after you're my age.
