@Hustle I was thinking the same thing.  I have looked LFS (linux from scratch) and its a pretty solid base as well as a great learning tool.  alot of great linux Os's have been born from it.  as for me i am working on (more like struggling) on making a custom ISO of microcore 2.5 with openbox, pypanel, abiword, emelfm2, opera, geany, gnumeric, and conky.  let me know if you make any progress with yours.

Just curious what problems are running into, since you describe your experience as 'struggling'... Is it integrating a complete such system out of components or building an ISO of such?

I say struggling since i am new to this sort of thing. (ie integrating the extensions into the OS then remastering)  mabey its just not my time to build a custom iso, *shrugs*, i dont know.  but i have dl'd LFS and have been reading it and it seems like as good as any place to start.
