Boot Options
« on: October 15, 2009, 11:51:31 AM »
I boot Tinycore  from a livecd.  Can I, after downloading the latest iso,  edit
/boot/isolinux/isolinux.cfg
and add the boot options I always type in (ie waitusb=5)
and then burn the iso?

Can  I also reduce  the time  the program waits for boot options to be typed in?

These instructions
http://wiki.tinycorelinux.com/tiki-index.php?page=Integrating_extensions
while not exactly what you want, show the steps you need to take to make your changes.

I've done something similar a couple of times, although I adapted the somewhat more complicated instructions in the Remaster wiki. The Integrating Extensions wiki ones actually look more straightforward.

In isolinux.cfg (using vi), I added "tinycore waitusb=5" [no quotes] at the end of the "append" line and changed the timeout to 1.

I call it my "beer boot" -- push button, grab beer, use Tiny Core.
