Tiny Core Base > Micro Core
Shouldn't MC include appbrowser-cli ?
(1/1)
gerald_clark:
IF TC includes appbrowser, shouldn't MC have appbrowser-cli?
roberts:
Not necessarily, as Micro Core is the core of Tiny Core and not a separate distribution, nor is it a goal to create/replace every GUI element of Tiny Core, i.e., the .core. elements found in Xprogs.core.tczl
gerald_clark:
OK. I'll buy that.
roberts:
BTW The uncompressed size of apbrowser-cli is nearly the same as appbrowser GUI.
So if each GUI core element were to be rewritten to an ncurses, Micro Core would no longer be micro, and we would end up with similar sized disributions. The concept of Micro Core was to distill the 'core' from Tiny Core thereby giving users a much smaller and more malleable distribution from which to enjoy the modularlity presented by the Core Concepts of this project.
