lirc problem with my remote control
« on: September 27, 2009, 04:03:45 PM »
Hi
I'm trying to use my remote controller (from pinnacle pctv pro), so I installed lirc, but it doesn't work.
The irda device is connected to the serial port of my pc. Tryed with win98 (on the same machine where I'm trying twith tc) and it works.
I made the setserial package and then I did:
Code: [Select]
sudo setserial /dev/ttyS0 uart none
sudo modprobe lirc_serial
sudo mode2
then I started pressing some buttons on the remote control but nothing.
I'm going to try with tc 1.4.3

Here is what LIRC says about IrDA devices: http://www.lirc.org/irda.html

The serial device is to be used with homebrew serial IR devices.

There may also be a bug in LIRC, there is a new version, I'll update it when I find some time
