Semitransparent shell in flwm
« on: September 18, 2009, 10:36:32 AM »
Hi all!

Can anyone tell me how to get a semitransparent shell in flwm? Currently it has light and dark but I would very much like to have a semitransparent too. I remember when it first appeared in DSL and how it suddenly seemed so professional. Yes, it's downright cool with a semitransparent shell. Especially while compiling (and having a nice background). Any hints would be appreciated.

One solution is lxterminal which is available in the repo. There you can adjust background and foreground color as well as opacity level.

transparency is not a setting with flwm, it is a setting for aterm.

Hi again!

Thanks for all suggestions! I really appreciate them. Robert I think I didn't explain so well what I was after. I'm looking for a way to have transparency as an option in the flwm-menu. That's where I got stuck since I'm not to familiar with the structure of flwm. But I can follow the suggestions of bmarkus and robc to get a semitransparent aterm even though it would be much more convenient just to have it in the flwm-menu.

Hi bmarkus!

I just tried lxterminal out and it was a blast! Very good work, I'll go with that one. Thanks a lot for this excellent terminal program!
