My aim with TC is to keep it quick and lean.......if I want to edit my backup to speed that up how is that done?

that is good info, I tried vi at root to open .filetool.lst but it would not..

I use Leafpad.
Type sudo leafpad in the terminal to start as root.
If you can't see hidden files. When opening a file, click on the square at the top left, and type in .filetool.lst.
