information required about the frequency
« on: September 10, 2009, 06:14:50 AM »
Hi,
I am using Xvesa . I do not know what is the frequency of the display resoultion that tinycore (65, 75, 85?)works on. how do we check  that?
I have also observed that, Xvesa dynamically detects the supported resolutions and colors of the hardware and displays it. But then , although my hardware supports 32bit color, the menu list of Xvesa setup shows only 15, 16 and 24 bit True color. why does it not show 32bit support?

Perhaps i need to study more about the colors.
Can someone shed some light on it please?

Thanks in advance

I know, you asked about Xvesa, but you may consider using Xorg instead:

It would give you better hw support and more choices.

1. Typically `xrandr` can be used to check the current vertical refresh rate (but I'm not sure if this is available in an extension).  Usually monitors have some kind of status info that may display that though.

2. This might help: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/32-bit_color#32-bit_color
