Unnecessary mounting points

There are mounting points created automatically, like

/mnt/hda
/mnt/sda
/mnt/sdb

before /mnt/sda1, /mnt/sda2, ...

which are pointing to a drive instead of an existing partition. I do not see too much use, but can make some confusion. Maybe would be good to waste them.

Yes, on my todo, however low priority.

They exist for a reason, as some factory-windows-formatted drives and mp3 players ship with garbled partition tables, and can only be mounted as the full drive (floppy style). Sometimes they appear to have partitions as well, but trying to mount one results in errors.

Unless a perfect or near-perfect way to recognize them is found, I'd rather have them around.

OK, lets keep it as it is if there is a reason behind. I have never seen such a buggy device.
