A success story
« on: August 31, 2009, 05:54:21 PM »
Hi, I would like to tell you how tinycore successfully helped
me to use Gimp on my dell computer. As some may know Gimp is a somewhat demanding program when it comes to memory resources.
Given that my Dell does not allow more than 1 gig in ram and
that I was running XP, lead me to look for a modern Linux distro, lean on resources. As I also have an old Dell laptop, running DSL flawlessly since 2 years I was soon discovering tinycore. So, I decided to go for the PPR mode and prepared two linux partitions, 82 and 83 and just downloaded gimp, MC and links /thats all I have. After loading gimp with some heavy graphical stuff, I can tell that its all working fine.
Thanks for a wonderful distro that is not bloated with programs I do not use, or want. The Tinycore concept is just perfect !!!
