TinyKeyXorg — a small FLTK 1.3 GUI to set your Xorg keyboard layout

Hey everyone,

I wrote a tiny GUI tool for Tiny Core called TinyKeyXorg. It's a graphical front-end to configure and persist the Xorg keyboard config (10-keyboard.conf) — model, layout (with a dropdown of common ones like es/latam/us/gb/fr/de/it/pt, plus manual entry for anything else), variant and extra XKB options.

What it does under the hood:

• Asks for sudo graphically (no terminal needed) if not run as root.
• Backs up any existing config before overwriting it.
• Writes the new Xorg keyboard config and sets permissions.
• Registers the file in .filetool.lst and runs filetool.sh -b so it survives a reboot.
• Shows a full log in the window and reminds you to restart.

Built in C++ against FLTK 1.3 specifically (not 1.4), so it should fit right in with the rest of the base system's look and feel.

A couple of small points

It would be good to use CXXFLAGS="-flto -march=i486 -mtune=i686 -Os -pipe -fno-exceptions -fno-rtti" and LDFLAGS="-Wl,-T/usr/local/lib/ldscripts/elf_i386.xbn" and drop "-O2" when compiling. If sstrip is then used the result is 16.85kb.

"tce-load -wi" will set whatever is loaded "onboot" - users probably don't need to load compiletc and fltk-1.3-dev every time they boot, "tce-load -wil" will download and load extensions once.
