How do I make the Swedish keymap work in the GUI?
« on: July 17, 2026, 01:19:15 PM »
Hello!

I have tried to solve this myself but I can not make it work. In the prompt giving the command: loadkmap < /usr/share/kmap/qwerty/sv-latin1.kmap loads the Swedish keyboard map at the prompt. After startx it is not working anymore. I have checked notes as far as the DSL days, which naturally does no work. So how can I get it to work in the GUI?

Kind regards,
meo

I have answered this question to you before.
I know you struggle, you've told me before.

Hello Patrik!

It's hard for a "distro junkie" to remember all the details about the different flavors of Linux. I remember that you helped me before and now again. Thanks a lot! This time I'll make sure that I have this solution clearly explained in the database I have created. To have information like this handy was the main reason that I created this database. So thanks again for the help and for your effort to help out in the TC community!

Kind regards,
meo
