emelfm2 crashing seeminly randomly
« on: Today at 03:57:30 PM »
I've had an issue for a long time where emelfm2 closes unexpectedly, even when sitting idle.  This is on Core 17.0, x86_64, but also on multiple previous versions of Core (I don't know how far back in time this goes).

I tracked it down to the back-directory arrow (one of the three arrow icons - back directory, forward directory and up directory - at the top each listing pane).  The forward directory and up directory buttons are OK, but just moving the mouse over the back directory button crashes the application even if it's not the active window.  It wasn't always this way, but it has been for a really long time, so I'm guessing one of the underlying libraries changed a few years ago.

The simple solution is to go into the settings and remove the back directory button from both panes.  Of course, without the back directory button, the forward directory button becomes useless - but at least it doesn't crash the application.

I'm curious to know if anyone else has seen the same issue and/or has come up with a better solution.
