Bootable CD with multiple versions

Hi Dacicus
You are welcome. :)

This is expected since tce is on a CD and read only. This message is harmless.

There may be another problem with tce being on read-only media. If I try to install additional extensions with tce-ab, I get an error about "Read-only file system" from wget. I'm not entirely sure, but I suspect that the problem is the symbolic link created between /etc/sysconfig/tcedir and the tce directory on the CD (because of copy2fs?). I can install extensions from other sources (e.g., USB drive) with tce-load, but that requires that I have the extensions downloaded already. This problem just popped up within the last 24 hours because I tried to install an extension that I didn't have downloaded already. I might have a solution to this, but I want to do some additional testing.

That's to be expected. Your original request stated:

You never said anything about installing extensions after booting. The fact that
you ask to do this with a CD (read only device) implies you don't want anything
to change its contents. If you want to install additional programs, you need to
add them to the image file and burn another CD.

That link is always created. That link makes it easy to find the tce directory
regardless of where its installed. Various scripts depend on it.
I'm curious. Since you are running off of a CD, Where did you think it was
going to install extensions anyway?
