Current extension versions
landrykid:
I installed TCL and some extensions, and they persist through reboots. I ran updates and the system says I'm current.
How do I get current app versions? For example, Thunderbird is version 78.8 and current is 140.0. How should I install apps not in the TCL repository? KDE-Connect as one example. Thanks.
Juanito:
You would need to build Thunderbird yourself and make an extension out of it.
gadget42:
according to wikipedia, KDE-Connect uses dbus
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KDE_Connect
so perhaps dbus forum topic(s) might help since there are no direct search results for "KDE-Connect" (except this thread naturally)
another link for reader convenience:

Thanks. How do most people use TCL? I'm guessing not as a daily driver, or do they?
Juanito:
Perhaps the best solution for thunderbird would be to modify the firefox_getLatest script to package the official binary.
For other extensions that already exist, you could pm the maintainer to request an update.
For extensions that don’t exist, you could post in the extension request section of the forum.
