TCL 15 x86 (32bit) Gparted segmentation fault
(1/1)
lizardidi:
Hi, new user here. Do correct me if this problem already addressed before. I cant seem to find a solution on this problem in the forum.
TCL 15 frugally installed on Hdd of Intel atom netbook with 2gb of ram.
sudo gparted started gparted gui well, but when try to run any operations (delete partitions, resize, new partition etc) gparted will crashed. In terminal, the error is Segmentation fault.
I tried to run gparted many times, sometimes (1 out of 10 maybe) the operation will run successfully. Most of the time it will just crashed. Anyone facing same problem?
gadget42:
where is this gparted located? if you want to perform procedures on a piece of storage media then that media cannot be mounted.
what does mount say?
--- Code: ---me@here:~$ mount
--- End code ---
Juanito:
I updated gparted/parted - do the new versions work any better?
Rich:
Hi gadget42
gparted checks if a partition is mounted and disables those
menu choices if it is mounted.
lizardidi:
Thanks all...
Update: Tried the new Gparted 1.6.0 .tcz and updated Parted.tcz, operations were butter smooth, no more segmentation faults or crashes.
