You'll need to switch window managers for features like that. The default flwm is quite barebones, icewm/fluxbox/jwm should support dragging with only borders.

A savvy gamer friend came by today and got quake going, playing online via denver.crxquake.com:26000.  O_O  FPS was pretty bad but it worked!  See attachment.
