When you start firefox from a terminal window and try to play a video, do you see any error messages?

I did some testing with tc-15.x x86 and firefox-111.01

Code: [Select]
firefox_getLatest.sh -m 111.0.1 or
Code: [Select]
firefox_getLatest.sh -m 111.01
Quote
Enter exact version requested.
For example to download version 34.0.5 simply type

  34.0.5

at the prompt, then select enter: ^Cfind: ‘/tmp/firefox*’: No such file or directory

What is firefox-111.01 ?

I updated firefox to 125.0.1 and videos would not play - firefox gave the same decoder errors as before.

Reverting to 111.0.1 fixed the problem.

Reverting to 111.0.1 fixed the problem.
This is my first installation of Tiny Core, I have nowhere to reverting.

What needs to be installed of the "box"  to view videos from the Internet ?

As I reported earlier
Code: [Select]
firefox_getLatest.sh -m 111.0.1does not allow me to install the required version.

P.S. How you use the reverting? (backup and restore or there are standard tools
for installing older versions of programs)

I made a firefox extension with firefox_getlatest a while back and, by chance, it was 111.0.1.

I saved the above extension before running firefox_getlatest again today, which downloaded 125.0.1.

After 125.0.1 didn’t work properly, I replaced it with 111.0.1.

You should be able to find a version +/- 111 that works.

I can confirm firefox 111.0.1 plays video without any aditional extensions.

I finding version firefox 113.0.2 (32 bit) and removed from onboot.lst:
Quote
gst-plugins-bad.tcz
gst-plugins-good.tcz
gstreamer.tcz
otherwise the video was very slow when viewed even at the lowest quality.

P.S. The time is approaching that for old computers you will have to write and
compile your own programs.  8)

As I reported earlier
Code: [Select]
firefox_getLatest.sh -m 111.0.1does not allow me to install the required version.

It doesn't take the version as an argument, you enter it at the prompt after running "firefox_getLatest.sh -m". It finds Firefox version 111.0.1 for me on x86_64.

I copied firefox 113.0.2 from ubuntu 18.04 bionic beaver which is no longer supported but is completely working and create extension firefox113.tcz on Tiny Core.

With the ffmpeg4.tcz extension, I can watch a video posted on YouTube, but the live broadcast does not play. Definitely not enough codecs, that's enough for me. :)

I have just downloaded firefox 125.0.2 (32-bit) and tested it on another 32-bit Linux system (easyos) and it works - can play youtube videos!
firefox_getLatest.sh -m 113.0.2  also works for me and firefox 125.0.2 (64-bit) with tinycore64 too
