...i had previously looked in to requesting SH archived the data , previously when the 1&2 x repo's disappeared (mostly for the tcz/src/* ect )

There's a full ibiblio copy at archive.org, I think it covers everything up to 12.x at least.

That project would just apply for the source code (tcz/src) parts.

These links are dead, and no other unsynced mirrors seem to be around.

As the future removal of 3.x was suggested when 1 and 2 were removed, this time I had enough warning to download everything in advance, so I didn't need to rely on an unsynced mirror lasting until I had access to an unlimited internet connection.

The build notes and dependencies for extensions not carried over to current TC are the most useful part to me, because most of the software I need to make extensions for turns out to have been done before for earlier TC versions. Sometimes the source code is hard to find elsewhere now too.

Please provide a link to the archive location that you're talking about, I can't find it easily.

They could also abandon the 32bit version . Many people use it, but unnecessarily? In any other operating system there is a discrepancy in resource usage between the 32/64 versions, but this increase is almost invisible in TinyCore - My first CPU, from 2006, already had 64bit support (of course I never used any 64bit os on it because I only had 256mb of ram and wanted to save every byte possible, since more than half was used by Windows XP).

The day before I posted those links I downloaded the
contents from the following directories:
1.x/archive/
1.x/tcz/
2.x/archive/
2.x/release/
2.x/tcz/
2.x/provides.db

I believe there was a 2.x/tce/ directory which I did not save.
I only looked at it briefly but it appeared to basically contain
the same extensions as the tcz directory. I don't know what
the purpose of .tce extensions was. It was before my time.

I've attached directory listings of the TC1 and TC2 repos that
I saved. Directories are listed first and have a / appended to
them. The src directories list some tarballs after the subdirectories.

The *tce extensions were basically tarballs and wrote actual files to the root file system rather than symlinks.

@CardealRusso: I have TC installed on two PCs made after (or around) 2006 which are x86, not x86_64. I certainly hope the 32bit releases continue for as long as possible because TC is well suited to older hardware where the 32bit version is necessary.

@Curaga: The Wayback Machine archive seems to have a limit to the number of files it saves per page. The files at the start of each directory listing are archived, but at some point it stops, so the ones at the end have never been saved (even small ones). If you only test the links at the top then it might look more useful than it is.

Thanks Rich, I did get everything for TC 1&2 early this year from a different unsynced mirror that supported rsync connections. I checked it when I later downloaded the TC3 contents and the tinycore directory has been deleted from that mirror now.

I'll have to find a bigger drive to put this stuff on before grabbing everything for TC4 next year.

The reason I'm interested in archive.org keeping the files is that it would save me much trouble doing it myself, but the partial archive there is just fuel for frustration.
