tabbed web browsing
« on: August 19, 2023, 05:26:00 PM »
Hello Forum,

It  could be some use to Web surfers.......the Firefox free add on  called  TAB STASH.

https://josh-berry.github.io/tab-stash/

Many web surfers are often dealing with EXCESS tabs  and generally  fumbling around clicking TINY lines of tab icons

Also  Memory  usage can get the better of browsers...
There is a firefox  trick  to  empty memory
......go  to  web  address
-----------------------------

about:memory

........far  side  option........"free it"
------------------------------

The FREE plug in  STASHES  away  your tabs into  a drop  down icon in FF  called  "HIDDEN" List........which you optionally VIEW and recall....
(don't bother with "groups" since it's a bit contrived)

It  keeps your WEB interface real clean.

The tabs stay Loaded and Hidden for UNLIMITED scenarios
which you set up in the PLUG in options.

........so you are sort of HIDING away cluttering of TAB interface icons........

ALso here, it's a Msoft machine and there are some free
memory managers which do a great job with FF

https://www.henrypp.org/product/memreduct

i mean........machines with a fair RAM  2 g.....and cpu
will just  comply with ANY web browsing habbits
and won't  allow  users to MAX  OUT......  via using these ideas here

"stash"  is the  option..........and the "hidden"  menu

.....this  together  with  FF  "fullscreen"......gives  users  a fast  nice  uncluttered  interace.......

best wishes
Vin

it's a similar principle to WORKSPACES in Vivaldi....a way to HIDE and manage your TAB interface.

https://www.henrypp.org/product/memreduct

........"dom.suspend_inactive.enabled"

SET  THE ABOVE FLAG TO  false............in "about:config"  web  address...........so as to stop FF from randomly suspending tabs

sorry......

the  flag below.....set  false  if you fancy.........

.....since ,if  have  some  extra  memory  management.......you  could  do that.......

........AND ......"tab stash"...actually  does  deal  with  memory

browser.tabs.unloadOnLowMemory = false

I know a guy who could use this. He always has 120+ tabs open in FF.

Hello ,

Right,  great.

The  most  friendly  method  seems  to be .....

1)  clearing  the horizontal Firefox  tab  strip
_
2) then  have  your  Firefox always open it's  new  tab  as a clear  screen.....empty
_
3) then  using  the  Drop down STASH icon.....  you see tthe List  of your hidden  tabs
( .....select  any  ONE  TAB to  view  it)
_
4)  when DONE with the  tab in 3......just  Hide the tab......by  clicking  the STASH  icon  in the firefox  address bar............
a  lovely  clear  screen  again.....no  bar  strips  clutter
_
5)   then repeat  from  point  3 ......above......
_
_
===============

,........so  essentially,  viewing  & HIDING ...per  single  tab  repetition
================
_
_
setting  the  OPTIONS in  the  "tab  stash"  plug in .-.means .users  can  be  sure  their  tabs  in  their  list......never  actually    get unloaded

many  th
