tc+ 14.0 32 bits : pcmanfm - dependancy missing
« on: May 27, 2023, 04:16:13 AM »
Hello

After downloading and loading PCManFM for TC+ 14.0 32bits, a message about a missing libffi.so.6 library was displayed in the terminal.

After downloading and loading the libffi6.tcz extension, pcmanfm works fine.

Do you think it is useful to add the libffi6.tcz extension to the pcmanfm.tcz.dep file?

Thank you.

Hi until Rich replies....I looked at some of your posts, you write better in English than I could dream of.

TC32 pcmanfm is 7 years out of date.

If you have time, why not update it and submit yourself?
If interested first copy to outside of your tcedir the following packages
libfm.tcz*
menu-cache.tcz*
pcmanfm.tcz*

I do not know where libfm-extra* is in your repo.

then follow the scripts in this order
http://tinycorelinux.net/14.x/x86_64/tcz/src/libfm/build-libfm-extra-dev.sh
http://tinycorelinux.net/14.x/x86_64/tcz/src/menu-cache/build-menu-cache.sh
http://tinycorelinux.net/14.x/x86_64/tcz/src/libfm/build-libfm.sh
http://tinycorelinux.net/14.x/x86_64/tcz/src/pcmanfm/build-pcmanfm.sh

I used to be called gordon64 until I spat the dummy and rejoined under other names.
I have no objection to you being the maintainer of any package I had once built on TC32 as I now only build for TC64 and Rpi arm v8 also known as aarch64

Feel free to pm me if you see any errors or ask for help on the forum.

libfm source is used once to build libfm-extra-dev and again later to build libfm
libfm is the true running dependency of pcmanfm (plus others)
while libfm-extra-dev is just a make dependency of menu-cache.

As I can not stop members from adding libfm-extra-dev to their boot list (onboot.lst) or manually loading it,
the install script for libfm....fixes up any such naughtiness.....(joke)

Good luck

Hello aus9 (aus for Australia ?),

Thank you for your reply.

In fact, I write in French and an online translator does the translation.
In other words, I'm bad at English :-).

I have a lot of difficulties with compilation.
I'm a curious end user and sometimes I manage to find what doesn't work.
To correct errors, my Linux knowledge is too limited.
So, I report the malfunction if it can help the maintainer of the extension.

Friendships.

Hi Rich,

Thank you to add the missing dep  :).

Hi aus9,

when I was young, i read Bony's adventures in the australien bush.
The author was Tony Upfield, if my memory is fidel (i don't know if this syntax is correct).

we are very good in other languages with online translator using, isn't it ?  ;) ;D

Best to you Rich & aus9
