other Pi distros (standing on the sholders of)
« on: September 18, 2024, 05:47:03 AM »
with comments in "(Is?)Tinycore based on *" @ https://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php/topic,1212.msg6945.html#msg6945

what other distro's are tc'ers booting (on a spare sd card ...ect )

what do they do differently?
... (how/if) can this be used to the benefit of (pi)core ?

eg
" FreeBSD bootable image for Raspberry Pi" has grub2 (via uboot) https://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php/topic,17627.msg105811.html#msg105811

perhaps  some of the modifications in the below list could also swim back up stream in to (pi)core ?

List of tinycore based projects @ https://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php/topic,25159.0.html

eg :

perhaps this or similar https://github.com/on-prem/tinycore-symlinktool/blob/master/symlinktool.sh -  Alternative to filetool.sh which restores files as symlinks

could be a solution for "Python Library Module persistence" @ https://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php/topic,23561.0.html  ???
on that topic fwiw `persistent pip troubleshooting`: https://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php/topic,23560.msg147683.html#msg147683
