gadget42:
if you have stumbled upon this thread where past commentary/experiences/etc regarding Dillo Web Browser were related...

please see:
https://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php/topic,26782.0.html

which references:
https://dillo-browser.github.io/
and:
https://github.com/dillo-browser/dillo

and also note the Warning at the bottom of that github_dot_com webpage:
--- Quote ---Warning - As of December 2023, the host dillo.org is no longer under control of Dillo developers. A copy of the website from May 2022 is archived in the Wayback Machine. (https://web.archive.org/web/20220508022123/https://www.dillo.org/)
--- End quote ---

so for the longterm foreseeable future, all the _old_ instances of Dillo will have links that don't resolve to the current project...sigh(isn't the first and won't be the last)

a further note - probably would be a good idea to redo TCL Dillo to reflect current/correct web links(assuming that that hasn't already been done circa this webpost)
here is a link to the latest about.c file:

stumbled down a rabbithole and wanted to post this additional webpage link:

Snippet:
--- Quote ---Since the last release 3.0.5 from 2015 a lot of things have happened to the Dillo project. Here is a short timeline to put things into perspective:
On 2016, the main developer of the layout engine, Sebastian Geerken, passed away.
On 2017, the development stopped.
On 2019, the last email from Jorge Arellano Cid, the lead developer of Dillo, was recorded by the mailing list.
On 2022, the domain dillo.org was lost.
On 2024, an attempt to resurrect the project began by Rodrigo Arias Mallo.

20240418-0551am-cdt-usa-modified: additional note to add that i still use Dillo daily for various purposes/reasons

gadget42:
just a quick note. there are three dillo offerings available via TinyCoreLinux at the present/post time. only the dillo.tcz has an accurate about:splash frontpage. accurate and current as per https://dillo-browser.github.io/dillo.org.html request.

the other two offerings, dillo-beta.tcz and dillo-xft.tcz, both have the old splash with the bad links. at the very least these should be removed until they can be modified/corrected/etc so that we respect the requests of the remaining developers.

Summary

The domain dillo.org expired in 2022 and shortly after someone bought it and placed a Wordpress blog with spam posts and some content copied from the original Dillo website. Please, don't link to dillo.org, use instead the new website https://dillo-browser.github.io/. There is also a copy of the original old website in case you need to link to an old page.
