Seq66 extension for x86 and x86_64
« on: February 17, 2022, 04:07:50 AM »
Hi, I've requested Seq MIDI editor before in this thread, but its author has recently abandoned sequencer64 and switched to Seq66, the newest (and hopefully more compatible and reliable) iteration in the realm of Seq.

If Seq66 gets added, then it will be suitable to remove sequencer64 because the former fully supersedes the latter.
(addendum: forgot to specify that the request is for TinyCore 13.x)

Hello F,

..........seq24 ?.........seems a very practical straight "bare bones"  music sequencer.

.........perhaps it's attainable.  (it was certainly free ........)

MIDI  .............has the version 2.0  platform appeared.........?

MIDI is a huge subject isn't it ..........Lord.

The MIDI purpose is compliance across digital audio products for their effective
communication and  ultimately ....an  "evironment building musical platform"

Purpose also (mainly)  is "sharing" musical information..........so many artists can again, communicate effectively ...........

Such musical arrangements can have  a central "midi dump file" and that file can show many others (who execute the file)  the exact similar _______"musical environment(s) Appears ......from the dump"______ on their own hardware

Thx

c

Seq66 is a direct continuation of Seq24, they share the same look and feel, but it has an active developer unlike Seq24, which has been dormant for a long time.

As far as I know seq66 uses a qt5 gui.

Qt5 is so bloated that I’ve given up on it, but anybody else is welcome to submit an extension 🙂

Hi Juanito
I can't find the reference, but I think QT5 also has a much higher CPU requirement than i486 (Pentium-M maybe?).
