piCore13beta1 available
« on: December 21, 2020, 03:02:58 AM »
First beta release of piCore-13 is now available for download. It is based on piCore-12, changes:

- glibc 2.32
- gcc 10.2.0
. libffi 3.3
- kernel 5.10.0
- uPython updated to current

It is expected to run on all RPi boards. Feedbacks are highly welcome.

Hello Béla,

I downloaded the beta version, this one:
http://tinycorelinux.net/13.x/armv6/test_releases/RPi/piCore-13beta1.zip

It runs, but I cannot get Alsa installed, I get this error message:
md5sum: alsa-modules-5.10.0+.tcz.md5.txt: No such file or directory

Complete output:

Code: [Select]
tc@ShowerBerry:~$ tce-load -wi alsa.tcz
alsa.tcz.dep OK
libasound.tcz.dep OK
Downloading: alsa-modules-5.10.0+.tcz
Connecting to repo.tinycorelinux.net (89.22.99.37:80)
wget: server returned error: HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found
md5sum: alsa-modules-5.10.0+.tcz.md5.txt: No such file or directory
Error on alsa-modules-5.10.0+.tcz

tc@ShowerBerry:~$ tce-load -wi alsa-utils.tcz
alsa-utils.tcz.dep OK
libasound.tcz.dep OK
Downloading: alsa-modules-5.10.0+.tcz
Connecting to repo.tinycorelinux.net (89.22.99.37:80)

md5sum: alsa-modules-5.10.0+.tcz.md5.txt: No such file or directory
Error on alsa-modules-5.10.0+.tcz

Is this caused by the 13 beta1 version?

There are no modules uploaded to the 13.x repo.  Bela is using the rpi compiled kernel, so you could grab them from rpi’s firmware git.

Hi Béla,

I hope you had a great Christmas!

Thanks for uploading the modules, but I still get the same error message when trying to install alsa.tcz and alsa-utils.tcz?

Hi Gerrelt,

thanks XMAS was nice at least as much as I possible considering restrictions :( :)

I just finished basic tests of RC1 and will upload it. Kernel is frozen, 5.0.2 built on piCore-13 itself and will upload basic moduels like sound, WiFi, ... Wait for this.
