[Solved] 20200818 arm6 possible APPS update gremlins?
« on: August 18, 2020, 05:57:52 AM »
I am still new to RPi so forgive me for posting this in case its already a known issue and I failed to spot it

Hi

Having only just got a desktop and run Apps update it has given me 3 claimed updates and one it does not know about.
libedit.tcz is not showing in the repo
http://tinycorelinux.net/11.x/armv6/tcz/
mine is 2daf7fff4191f27d6befb1ffd90ad2e9  libedit.tcz

the changed md5 txt files you can see here
http://tinycorelinux.net/11.x/armv6/tcz/openssh.tcz.md5.txt
repo=8a3fbd71f3d397d40c3b9770fc43eb85  mine=36fd539cfea507ea22e7a6a296e57f6f
allegedly no change in changelog

http://tinycorelinux.net/11.x/armv6/tcz/openssl.tcz.md5.txt
repo=ce56806ec582322a868ef4481bde212e mine=cd2031cccaed75756595e9923be1a4c2
allegedly no change in changelog

http://tinycorelinux.net/11.x/armv6/tcz/ca-certificates.tcz.md5.txt
repo=86f3622d1337cf1ef0aa06503e22952e mine=d014ae844d40347be681d722888c6cf9
allegedly no change in changelog

BTW how do I prove I am on arm6 download?
/etc/issue IMHO might be the place to put a specific string?

I am tempted to say something happened on the June 13 but does that make it black Saturday? giggles

If you have an RPi4, it uses the armv7 repo

OK how did I get libedit?

it has a dep file showing ncurses.tcz as a dep
I moved it out of tce/optional and full reboot....so far no breakages

There is no dep file in the piCore-11.x armv7 repo that contains libedit.

It used to be a dep of openssh in the piCore-9.x armv7 repo, so perhaps it was brought over via the image and orphaned by an update to openssh?

thats good enough for me.

OFFTOPIC.....is it possible to have vte-dev in repo so I can compile a couple of terminals that depend on it?

I had a quick look at a another site
https://www.raspberryconnect.com/raspbian-packages/67-raspbian-x11
and not sure if they cross compiled or not....but lxterminal and sakura are listed there
There is no mention of vte on that page

Because those terminals are small.....I thought it might be best to compile natively before attempting to setup a cross compile structure. I still plan to cross compile but only if they are big packages or take long time to compile
(if my skills are improving heh heh)

There's no vte extension in the piCore-11.x repo and the one in the piCore-9.x repo is gtk2.

If you'd like to submit a vte extension please go ahead.
