Why does the subject of package managers keep coming up? Please choose from the following:

1. Use the package manager that TC comes with.
2. Use the distribution that uses the package manager you want to use.
3. Learn to compile the software you think would benefit the TC community and submit extensions suitable for the package manager TC comes with.

These are your choices. There are no other choices. Telling everyone how they should change to be like someone else because of some inexplicable package manager preference is not one of the choices.

1. Synaptic is unsuitable for dCore.
2. Synaptic is a front-end to dpkg and apt which dCore doesn't have.
3. dCoreplus ISO has 222MB of wireless firmware files which makes it huge.
4. If you can tweak the synaptic package manager, I am sure that the admins will definitely look into including it into the dCoreplus ISO.
5. I honestly believe that this is not the right place. (dCore place in the forum might do this).

Synaptic doesn't work because we don't have dpkg or apt. You yourself would need to tweak it.

Because, all the visual App downloaders of debian are for dpkg or apt. But we don't have anyone of those two.

EXPERIMENTAL : Download the .debs of Steam and only the x64 bit dependencies individually. Then use sce-import or sce-load on them. Say us if it works.
