Zoom cloud meeting
« on: August 06, 2020, 01:57:54 AM »
We need an extension for zoom cloud meeting given the "work from home" situation. A 32 bit version will be appreciated.

As per the link provided in a different thread https://d11yldzmag5yn.cloudfront.net/prod/5.2.440215.0803/zoom_i686.tar.xz

This is pre-built, I presume you unpack it somewhere and run ZoomLauncher.

It is propreitary software(or commercial software whose owners don't give its source code) which means we don't get its sources from anywhere in the web.

We don't have sources means we can't provide tcz for that. You better unpack the binaries provided in the above link.

I also recommend moving it to a persistent place (it should be persistent) like /mnt/sdXX so that you can skip adding such big file to backup.

Can you give a more detailed procedure? I am new to tiny core.

Please don't quote the post immediately before yours in its entirety, it just wastes space.

One of the advantages of tinycore is that it is difficult to break - if something goes badly wrong, you can reboot and things will be back to where they were before the problem.

I presume that you have downloaded and unpacked the tarball, what else have you tried and what errors did you get?

As I told you earlier,TCL's extensions are user-contributed, and if an extension isn't available in the APP browser, most users probably don't have a need for one, though you're welcome to make your own zcm.tcz if you do.

In most cases, if the software developer does not provide the source code, they will also provide binary packages (usually compiled) and individual distribution packages.

I've told you about ZCM(ZoomCloudMeeting) before, you don't actually need to compile ZCM, you just need to download its binary package and add the corresponding soft library dependencies. I don't know why you don't do this, but in my tests I was able to run ZCM on TCL. 8)
