[Solved] anyone using 64 bit /etc/modprobe.conf?

Hi

I noticed on 64 bit 11.1x we have no /etc/modprobe.conf dir but we have /etc/modprobe.conf

I have just attempted to use the included file to swap my sound card index to no avail....and added the file to backup....the alsa files are in my boot list...reboot no swap detected
So I removed backup...created a file called /etc/modprobe.conf /intel.conf .....added the file to backup...the alsa files are in my boot list...reboot no swap detected

so anyone succeeding with the modprobe.conf?

It would perhaps be easier to test if you first reboot without any alsa extensions loaded, make your modprobe.conf changes, then load alsa-config and alsa.

Hi thanks for replying. I will check soon.

In the meantime, I should mention I have vlc playing with pulseaudio.

when I looked at Apps -> alsa-config the info file suggests we have file = /usr/local/etc/init.d/alsasound
I did a provides search for alsasound and none the wiser.

any clues?

/usr/local/etc/init.d/alsasound was used in the past for ancient hardware - I'll edit the info file.

thanks for the test...that works.  Only for people who plan to use analog and no pulseaudio I reveal some old tricks
