install firefox-esr failed
(1/1)
kirin-rex:
I have 14 laptops running tiny core, and on 13 of them, I have firefox installed with no problem.
I have 1 laptop though, that keeps giving me "failed". I have, however, recently installed other apps (chromium and space.fm), so not all apps are failing.
How I try to install: click "app", select "cloud/remote", select "browse", search for "firefox", select firefox-ESR.tcz. At the bottom it says "OnBoot". I click "Go".
The tce-load window pops up and I see:
firefox-ESR.tcz.dep OK
Downloading: gtk3.tcz
Then a couple of things flash by too quickly to see and the "status" window says "tce-load -wi firefox-ESR.tcz Failed."
If it help:
showbootcodes says:
BOOT_IMAGE=/tce/boot/vmlinuz quiet waitusb=5:UUID="9f64a8c1-e43e-49f2-b0c1-3b28444b3713" tce=UUID"9f64a8c1-e43e-49f2-b0c1-3b28444b3713" initrd=/tce/boot/core.gz

Hi kirin-rex
To see the errors, open a terminal and enter:
--- Code: ---tce-load -wi firefox-ESR
--- End code ---
kirin-rex:
Thank you.
It says:
--- Quote ---firefox-ESR.tcz.dep OK
Downloading: gtk3.tcz
connecting to repo.tinycorelinuxnet (89.22.99.27:80)
wget:server returned error: HTTP/1.1 416 Requested Range NOT Satisfiable
gtk3.tcz: FAILED
md5sum:WARNING: 1 of 1 Computed Checksums did NOT match
Error on gtk3.tcz
--- End quote ---
Juanito:
I checked the gtk3 md5sums on the server and they are OK.
Maybe you have a corrupted download - could you delete gtk3.tcz and gtk3.tcz.md5.txt locally and try again.
kirin-rex:
Thank you! That worked perfectly! I deleted gtk3.tcz and gtk3.tcz.md5.txt and was then able to download and use firefox. Thank you for your awesome advice and help.
