32-bit in 2020? Debian Buster?

I understand that Ubuntu won't be fully available in a 32-bit flavor as of 20.04. Should I switch to Debian and if so can we expect to have dCore-Buster sometime? (Please forgive my ignorance! I have never used pure Debian, so I am not even sure about its release strategy or cycles.) Otherwise I will leave the 32-bit machines at dCore-bionic. Thanks for your advice!

Thanks for mentioning, I have promised to support older versions of existing Debian/Ubuntu dCores as well as 32 bit as long as Debian or Ubuntu supports it, and now Debian still does. I have a decent 32 bit machine 3.2ghz processor, 4G of ram, feeble on board video card which is the reason graphics are slow on it.  So I could test 32 bit.  I will look into a 32 bit dCore-buster.

Hi AndresC2.  I was pondering a 32 bit dCore-buster, but lately I am interested in being able to focus my attention more on each dCore rather than diversify it across more ports.   I had previously said I would provide 32 bit dCores as long as Debian supported 32 bit, but there seems to be increasingly less demand for 32 bit as time goes on.

     and its a masterpiece

     i would also like to see (or at least hear about) a dcore buster 32
     but realize that your energies are limited

     this may not be the thread for it
     but what are your thoughts on a dcore buster 64 

     i am in no rush for anything more than dcore stretch 32
     since it is perfectly adequate for my needs and hardware
     and i am exploring using it as a base
     and putting more non debian stuff in it
     for example fredx portable firefox from the puppy forum
     runs and updates itself in dcore stretch 32 

     for what its worth my opinion is
     to concentrate only on debian
     since it think that will have the most support long term 

     anyway this post is just to solicit your thoughts on all this
     reply if you feel like it

Hi ulfr.  I have been doing some more thinking, Debian Buster will be oldstable in about 6 months.  Perhaps the next Debian based dCore, dCore-bullseye, could have both a 32 bit and 64 bit version.  There is only a Debian based dCore release every 2 years, and basically once a dCore is made it maintains itself for the most part, which was the point of dCore to begin with.  So making a 32 bit version at least for this next Debian based release would not be unfeasible.

Hi all and thanks to all the developers that keep this going. Thank-you Jason for considering further 32-bit dCore. This household has four *Core installs on three different systems. TinyCore 6 (wireless) and 11 (wired) on an SSE2 capable 11-year old netbook and two dCore-Jessie installs on separate ~20 year old towers. No 64-bit machines here as 32-bit still does everything needed. Take care.

Not sure why i thought both installs were dCore-jesssie, rather dCore-stretch primarily text mode and dCore-xenial fully loaded. Taking a bit to get back into dCore, almost forgot as much as was learned.
