Displaying non-US characters
« on: January 01, 2020, 07:40:10 PM »
I saw in the FAQ how to set up a non-us keyboard map.
I want to know how to set up the video to display non-us characters in textmode (not in X).

For that, you need a locale (getlocale.tcz) and a console font with your chosen set. Warning: the console fonts are limited, you won't be able to display full utf8 with asian scripts and whatever; IIRC they are limited to 256 glyphs and made for the iso-8859* and similar charsets.
The only barriers that can stop you are the ones you create yourself.
