Frugal Install into eMMC

(1/2) > >>

aj:
Hello,

I'm trying to install the tiny core distro into a computer which contains only a eMMC.
I tried the procedure described on "Frugal Install Tiny Core Linux" and I'm getting an error to setup the grub.
I can't use the grub command "root (hd0,0)" because the computer doesn't have a hard drive (only has the /dev/mmcblk0) so I would like to know if there is another way to install the grub or if I should use the grub version 2 instead?

Your help is greatly appreciated.

Rich:
Hi aj
Maybe try using  tab completion  to see if grub makes any suggestions. Enter  root  and then hit the  Tab  key once or twice.

If your  eMMC is a Chromebook, take a look here,

I used the tips found there to install MX Linux to a Toshiba Chromebook that I got/bought pre used.

The grub root command only detects de hd0 but this is the usb-stick used to install the OS.
Thanks
