apulse for tinycore
« on: March 30, 2019, 01:50:08 PM »
   hi tinycore team and everyone

i hope this is of interest

on the puppy linux forum there is a thread for corepup
which is an attempt to combine the advantages of tinycore and puppy

fredx a puppy member has made an apulse tcz
that allows the newest firefox to have sound without pulseaudio

i first load alsa and alsaconfig and alsagui
then the apulse and libatomic tcz
then start firefox with apulse firefox in the terminal

and now have sound with alsa/apulse in the latest firefox

if you go to the corepup thread in puppy there will be the tcz and instructions

also corepup has a very stripped down jwm with only one jwmrc file
   called corepup-jwm and corepup.jwmrc
that might be of some interest to minimalists

Hello ulfr

We tried apulse back in 2017, http://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php/topic,21268.msg132892.html#msg132892

I made extensions that would install apulse on tc-8 & tc-9 for both x x86 & x86_64 systems  however in the long term I found apulse to be unreliable and resolved to install alsa and pulseaudio for reliability,  much better overall.

regards
