Hello:
... build against the Linux kernel source so no compatibility across versions.
... needs Nvidia hardware to be installed in order for the driver source to be happy.
I see ...
... in case you want to give it a go building the drivers yourself: http://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php/topic,12965.msg71304.html#msg71304
Thanks. =-)
I'll have a look.

I may possibly have the Nvidia 340 version for TC-9.x x86_64 But not for tc-8.x x86 unfortunately
I have a build script for NVIDIA drivers which you can try but the requirements are that you build it on the intended version of Tinycore and on the machine with the NVIDIA graphics card installed
If you’d like to try ?
Sure ...
I could first try with installing TC-9.x x86_64, should not be a problem.
I went for TC-8.2.1 because I take to be absolutely stable and mature.
Also because, given it's basic purpose, I really don't think I need it to be x86_64 even though my rig is.
As I may have said before, I use TC as an emergency go-to installation when I have some problem with my Sun Ultra24 Workstation.
It is set up in an internal USB2.0 port on the motherboard and only accesible with boot device selection through F8 at boot time.
Sort of like my own but absolutely private MEI ... 8^D
The idea behind this is that if even the /sd0 fails and a live session is not possible, I can get up and running quickly to see what's going on and even do a system restore if needed.
Fortunately my Devuan ASCII installation works great with little or no hassle so I have not had too many opportunities to use TC in it's intended function.
I just boot it every so often to check and see it is OK.
But my recent change of video hardware somehow thrashed the previous TC installation (7.0?) so I decided to just reformat and do a quick reinstall with TC-8.2.1.
I also wanted to set up an alternative to Vesa as it did not work well, had slow rendering and some tearing of the default desktop which was rather annoying and could only get 1024*768 resolution.
So if you'd be willing to send me the NVidia drivers, I'd be very grateful.
Thanks in advance,
MM
