qemu no curses support ?

Hi,

i run TC8.x x64 and like to use qemu to test a diskimage under TC but i dont have any graphics output(X11), i only have the commandline output, so i was thinking i can use qemu with curses but if i try to start qemu:  "qemu-system-x86_64 -drive format=raw,file=odin1440.img -curses" with curses it says: "qemu-system-x86_64: -curses: curses support is disabled"

qemu-system-x86_64 --version
QEMU emulator version 2.9.0

my only chance now is VNC ?!?
